Golden tips tea is a rare tea in Sri Lanka, produced in limited quantities. The name comes from the unusual colour of the buds of the tea plant used to produce this tea. This white tea is highly valued for its unique taste and very smooth liquor. It is produced in the same way as a Silver Tips tea.
All teas are fully handmade (harvested and rolled by hand with the leaves dried and withered in the sun).
White tea was first grown at Nuwara Eliya, near Adam’s Peak area, in Sri Lanka. Nuwara Eliya area is described as high-grown in “Ceylon Tea growing regions in Sri Lanka”
