Taiwanese Highland Oolong Tea from northeast Taiwan. The island is also popularly known by its former name, Formosa, a designation conferred by Portuguese sailors (after “Ilha Formosa”, Portuguese for “beautiful island”). The tea was discovered by Chinese immigrants, who found the wild tea trees in the 16th century.
