This black tea originally from the mountainous Wuyi region in the province of Fujian in China. It is distinct from other types of tea, as the leaves are traditionally smoke-dried over pinewood fires, the tart smoke of the Chinese pine tree root gives this traditional variety its delicate taste. This was Sir Winston Churchill’s favorite tea, which he learned to appreciate, along with cigars, during his military service in Cuba.
