Obtained from the mountainous and moist environmental conditions in the Yunnan region of China, Pu Erh tea leaves grow at altitudes of 1,400 to 1,700 metres. Often referred to as post-fermented tea, the powerful aroma of Pu Erh is matched with its explosive combination of tastes. The liquor feels soft, and is complemented well with its mellow and woody flavour, reminiscent of roasted wheat. The Pu Erh tea contains micro-organisms with probiotic properties to aid in digestion and promote a healthy immune system. Best enjoyed after meals, the beverage is also commonly consumed to help with weight loss.
